International Student Requirements
International students must submit the following items in order to be considered for admission to the BBA program:
- A completed and signed application form
- $100 CAD non-refundable application fee
- Copy of valid study permit and passport (for students who are in Canada)
- Proof of graduation from a high school or equivalent with an average grade of C+ (65% or higher).
- Official transcripts, diplomas and certificates in the native language with a certified English translation
- A pre-paid tuition equivalent to eight BBA courses must be received before an official Letter of Acceptance is sent to an overseas student.
- English requirements met through one of the following:
- A grade of C+ or higher in English 12
- Four years of full time education in Canada or an English-speaking country including the final year of a senior secondary school.
- Successful completion of 6 credits of post-secondary first year English for which credit is granted by the institution.
- Graduation from a recognized degree at an accredited university at which English is the primary language of instruction.
- At least four years at an International Baccalaureate (IB) program
- At least four years at Council of International schools (CIS)
- At least four years at a US regionally accredited school to senior year
- School offering full Canadian curricula
- C+ in O level in the British system
- A TOEFL score of 560 (paper based) 220 (computer based) 83 (internet based) or higher. The institution code is 8724.
- An IELTS score of 6.5 or higher with no section less than 6.0
- Minimum of 4 L on Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Exam (CELPIP)
- 85 in Michigan English Language Assessment (MELAB)
- 600 in Intensive English Program Certificate (IEP)
- Successful completion of the bridging English courses (with a score of C+ or better) offered at Sprott-Shaw
Who is Exempt?
An international student is a student who is neither a Canadian citizen nor a permanent resident. All international students must have a valid study permit in order to be admitted to Sprott-Shaw. However, exceptions include students whose status is one of the following:
- Ministerial permit claiming refugee status;
- Diplomatic visa or dependent of a person on a diplomatic visa;
- Restricted employment authorization or dependent of a person on a restricted employment authorization
